Ultracam1

Compact Intensified High-Speed (500 fps/1000 fps) Camera

LCD Touch Screen and Optional Point & Shoot Capability

The Ultracam1 is capable of acquiring images at up to 500 fps full format (640x480) at low light levels.  At reduced format (480x360), maximum frame-rate increases to 1000 fps.  Exposure times as short as 50ns can be achieved on a standard model.  3ns gating is available as an option.

The Ultracam1 can be used for special imaging of rapid events where only low ambient light is available. Multiple exposures per frame can be achieved through external control.  Utilizing the ability to achieve short exposure times the camera can achieve a dynamic range of over 5 million.

The Ultracam1 contains a high quantum efficiency GEN III Image Intensifier with broadband response from 450 to 900nm. This high performance intensifier is fiber optically coupled to the high sensitivity CMOS sensor. UV response from 200nm is available as an option.

The camera operating parameters of the Ultracam1 are manually controlled by a computer via a Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) connection.  Simple operating controls, e.g. frame rate, exposure time, and resolution can also be set via the LCD touch screen, which also provides real time preview and playback of the captured video sequence.  The intensifier gain, gate and gate delay are manually controlled by a computer via a RS-232  connection, which can be converted to USB through an adapter.  The Ultracam1 comes complete with control software, cables, battery and power supply required for operation.  Captured images/video sequences can be stored in the 1GB internal high performance DRAM memory that can be securely off-loaded to a removable CompactFlashTM Card.  Detailed analysis of captured data and image processing can be performed on a PC.

With an optional automatic gain intensifier, the Ultracam1 can be fully battery powered and controlled via the LCD touch screen.  This makes it a portable point and shoot low light level high frame rate camera.  This option is available for domestic customers only.
